Responsible for the overall management of the mine including planning, budgeting, staffing, cost containment, and profitability. Activities on site include iron ore extraction (DSO - 2Mtpa); crushing and screening (7Mtpa); ore beneficiation (5Mtpa); train loading; exploration drilling and a tailings storage facility.

Multi site responsibility for medium term mine planning; associated reporting; Drill and Blast activities.

I ensured a high standard of blasting outcomes were achieved through the application of tight blasting process control and a rigorous continuous improvement process. This was of significant importance to the operation as the town of Iron Knob is in close proximity to the pit.

Providing a full time drill and blast engineering service to MMG Century Mine & Glencore Xtrata Newlands Coal Mine.

Selecting the appropriate explosives to suite the site specific conditions and recommending best practice for the application thereof for both open-pit and underground operations.

Underground production supervisor responsible for short term production planning; safe execution thereof and keeping operating cost within budget.

Completing short term assignments in the various service departments in an underground operation.
