Designed and optimized 2020 aero kit. Improved down force by almost 100% by running iterative CFD simulations. Designed mounting and hardware for aero kit and ran FEA simulations at joints to ensure adequate strength. Research is focused around two-phase, high-heat flux cooling techniques, and a novel Stirling engine configuration. This has involved the implementation of various sensors with LabVIEW, writing Matlab code to conduct numerical analysis of data with iterative methods such as Runge-Kutta, creating complete engine geometry in Solidworks, running FEA and CFD analysis, led a team of four undergraduate students and worked on a comprehensive design concept, and implemented improvements with knowledge gained from the prototype.
