I assumed the role of Acting Academic Dean at AIB while we undertook a search to appoint a new Academic Dean, I provide leadership and strategic direction to AIB's academic portfolio of programs, including the Graduate Certificate of Management, Graduate Diploma of Management, Master of Business Administration, Graduate Certificate in Research Methodologies, Master of Management, Doctor of Business Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).I have made a significant strategic impact across all areas of Teaching, Learning, and Research at AIB since taking on the role in November 2023; including developing AIB’s 2024-2026 Teaching and Learning Framework and AIB’s response to Government and regulatory requirements regarding Generative Artificial Intelligence and Assessments, as well as the Support for Students Act.I am looking forward to support AIB's incoming Academic Dean who will start on the 24th June 2024

Senior Lecturer In Leadership, Program Director For Master Of Leadership
I redeveloped the Master of Leadership offering to incorporate cutting edge academic research with a practical application. Both on-campus and online offerings within the program were revamped, incorporating technology and andragogy principles to facilitate continuous professional development and learning among students. I also taught and facilitated numerous intensives both nationally and internationally.I successfully championed and led initiatives to grow enrolments and attract new students through new programs (accredited and non-accredited) and set up partnership with industry groups and other stakeholders leading to new markets and increased revenues (e.g. Master Programs in Malaysia and the United Kingdom; Graduate Certificate program for a Samoan cohort in Brisbane; and the development of micro-credentials for professional continuing education). I successfully developed four new specialisations within the Master of Leadership Program and developed an exclusive residential executive education program with successful enrolments of over 30 students in various senior leadership positions across two cohorts prior to leaving the College.

I was responsible for the efficient and effective administration of the management provision in the Bachelor of Commerce with a key responsibility for developing and marketing the program offerings in conjunction with other appropriate staff. I managed medium to large units (up to 600 students). I have also had extensive experience in redesigning curricula, as well as managing staff and student expectations at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I was also responsible for line managing over 20 academic staff during this time.My pedagogical approach focused on the integration of work-relevant job skills and theoretically-driven curricula; which resulted in high student performance as evidenced by consistent positive student feedback and obtaining higher than average formal teaching evaluations. I was also awarded a Better Teaching and Better Learning grant at Monash University to augment current curriculum design with input from industry stakeholders.I developed and incorporated the Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS) program in collaboration with staff from the Office of the Vice-Provost (Learning and Teaching) at Monash University. I collaborated with the Monash Library to create a tailored research-skills program for students who may not have the sufficient academic research skills. This was done to increase student engagement and build student capacity. I received several awards, including two Dean’s Award – for teaching excellence and teaching responsible management; a teaching innovation award from Monash Education Academy; and was nominated for the Monash Postgraduate Association Lecturer of the Year in 2016 in recognition of my support towards retention and progression for students.

Project: High Performance Manufacturing Workplaces (November 2013 - December 2014)I was the lead researcher for a project commissioned by the Australian Government Department of Industry, investigating the use of high performance work practices (HPWP) among manufacturing SMEs in Australia. The project consisted of a nationally representative workplace survey of manufacturing SME establishments, seven best practices case studies, and a review of national and international policies.In this role, I was responsible for the research design, liaison with Government and industry stakeholders, project management - including tender board process, as well as analysis and reporting of data to the Department of Industry and delivery of industry engagement forums in collaboration with Manufacturing Skills Australia in Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Geelong, and Newcastle. Project: Workplace Leadership – A Review of Prior Research (November 2013 – March 2014)I conducted a comprehensive literature review on leadership research, reviewing the skills and capabilities individuals require to be effective leaders and how these can be acquired. It examines different leadership styles and the outcomes, both positive and negative, for employees, teams and organisations.Project: Study of Australian Leaders (June 2014 - December 2014)I was part of the team of researchers for a project commissioned by the Australian Government Department of Employment to evaluate leadership capability in Australian workplaces.
