Maritime Operations

I was appointed as an intern at the manufacturing plant in this internship. This plant had three assembly lines for manufacturing model CD-70, CD-125 fuel tanks, and Pridor motorcycles. I witnessed state-of-the-art manual and robotic TIG welding facilities. Additionally, I have been actively involved in quality control and inspection processes to uphold established quality benchmarks. In addition to these production lines, this plant also had an electrostatic painting facility and a dryer that could paint up to 2500 units per day. Additionally, I did a project related to updating the Risk Assessment Sheets for workers' safety and health from workplace hazards and suggested new safety practices to reduce severe risks.

During the internship period, I was appointed to the Nestle Water Department (Brand Name: Nestlé Pure Life) as an Intern. Apart from observing regular production and maintenance activities, I was assigned to update relevant P&IDs of Utilities (Water Treatment Plant, Steam and Condensate System, Cooling Water System, and Compressed Air System). I learned what sort of instruments and fittings are installed in these networks and how the central utility department fulfils the needs of production departments.Also, I visited the main power production department and witnessed the operation of the 8MW Wartsila Engine and its subsystems such as the HFO heating and delivery network, lubrication system, exhaust gas utilisation system, and engine cooling system.
