Mun Thoh has more than twenty years of experience managing the full value chain of Intellectual Property (IP) business from IP management to Technology commercialization in private and public sectors. Mun Thoh is a Registered Patent Attorney in Singapore and also a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP). He is WIPO designated Regional Expert for ASEAN IP Policy Model project.Presently, Mun Thoh is the Deputy Director of Technology Transfer & Innovation, NUS and Head of Physical Sciences, Intellectual Property Management & Technology Commercialization group. His area of specialization covers IP creation & filing strategy, licensing and curating of deep tech spin-offs. He has played a critical role in deploying many IP, innovation & licensing strategies and is an IP & Innovation Mentor to nurture start-ups. Mun Thoh is a co-founder of an IP Module under NUS Master of Science in Venture Creation Programme and involved in teaching of IP for Entrepreneurs and graduate students.Prior to joining NUS, Mun Thoh was the Senior Group Manager of IP & Innovation and Chief Patent Engineer of a Global Multinational company. With his deep IP knowledge and experience, he advises stakeholders on a broad portfolio of patents, copyrights and trademark rights covering major global jurisdictions. He is familiar with IP business in China, Europe, Singapore and USA. He was a Member of Singapore’s IP Hub Master plan Sub-Committee in 2013.Mun Thoh has performed roles in organizations that spread across idea generation & innovation management, product development, marketing, technology commercialization, business model creation, negotiations, manufacturing, process improvements, partnerships & relationship management.
