I have worked and volunteered with vulnerable people, here and abroad, for over fifteen years. I am an experienced paralegal, youth advocate, and published author with an advanced understanding of children’s rights and the care system and a broad knowledge of social welfare systems including housing, immigration and mental health. I have recently released a book: "The Advocate's Guide to Complaints in England" https://www.pavpub.com/an-advocates-guide-to-complaints. There is also an accompanying website - www.complaintadvocates.co.ukI work hard and do well under pressure having always balanced employment with further education and volunteering. I have developed excellent written and verbal communication skills. I am a confident and positive team member but equally able to take initiative and lead independently; I conceived and project-managed the UK's first national writing competition for children in care, which has now become an annual event (for more info see: http://www.coramvoice.org.uk/voices-2018)I feel very privileged to have worked with young and vulnerable people, they have taught me the importance of fairness, resilience and a dry sense of humour! I am determined when it comes to social justice. I am a bit of a sci-fi geek and I love to read.
