TThe pumped storage power plant is located in the Hajar Mountains, 140 km southeast of the city of Dubai. STRABAG will build a turbine shaft with a diameter of approximately 36 m and a depth of almost 70 m to house two Francis turbines with a power output of 250 MW. A 1.2 km long pressure tunnel to be excavated by the construction consortium will connect the existing lower reservoir, upgraded by STRABAG, to the new upper reservoir. The upper reservoir will be constructed with two roller-compacted concrete dams with a height of approximately 35 m and 70 m. In addition, STRABAG has been entrusted with the construction of two road tunnels with a length of approximately 470 m and 440 m using blast excavation. The scope of the contract also includes the reinforced concrete outflow and intake structures, several ancillary buildings as well as their extension and mechanical and electrical systems.

The project is located in Abu Dhabi city area and consists of the refurbishment andconservation of the Cultural Foundation Building at Qasr Al Hosn. The 23,000 sqm buildingwill undergo extensive refurbishment and upgrading, works include the reintroduction of alibrary, creation of Exhibition spaces, opening of a theatre as well as learning andworkshop facilities and food and beverage areas, additional gallery spaces, a Musalla(1,100 sqm), additional landscaping (60,000 sqm) with water features as well as twounderground car parks (11,000 and 10,000 sqm).The main scope of works comprises:1. • Project (LS-01 and LS-02) was to design, procure, and construct 50km link sewers tunnel and 247 manhole drop shafts to connect new and existing sewer lines to the main deep tunnel trunk main providing a sustainable solution to waste water transport and treatment demands within the Emirates of Abu Dhabi.35.7km of LS-01 network is located beneath the central business District of Abu Dhabi Island with tunnel diameters ranging from 200mm to 2800mm and manhole shafts depth between 8m to 26m.15.4km of LS-02 is located on the Abu Dhabi mainland with tunnel diameters ranging from 200mm to 3100mm and manhole shafts depth between 12m to 38m.All the tunnels are built using pipe jacking methodology with secant pile and caisson segment TBM launch and receiving shafts.

As Project Geologist I lead the project, I managed on-shore and near shore projects for Geotechnical Investigation. my responsibilities were Including Perpetration of Method statements, Mobilization to on-shore and near-shore fields, day to day coordination with client, review all the borehole logs, in-situ test results until the delivery of Factual Report.
