From Himalayan Schoolyards to Global Boardrooms: A three-decade Journey of Many Lifetimes, is it a story you want to know about?In the mystical nooks of Mussoorie, my footsteps echoed within Wynberg, a school whose foundations date back to 1888. Its colonial outlines later mirrored the historic facades of Baker Street in London, where I lived for a few years, were my earliest brushes with globality.There in Mussoorie, Ruskin Bond & Vishal Bhardwaj’s words over at Woodstock Landour inspired me, where cricket matches with Tom Alter and Naseeruddin Shah defined many sunlit afternoons and where the Himalayan winds echoed the roar of my RD 350 during the Himalayan rallies.From Delhi's electric theater scene with luminary teachs Aamir Raza Hussain and Barry John, my narrative shifted to the dynamic pulse of the newspaper world and the adrenaline rush of Bombay's life at UTV.The world beckoned, and I responded — from intense boardroom sessions with titans like UTV, Star TV, Neilsen, and CNN to strategic maneuvers at Hewitt and Entrepreneurial efforts.Cities from Hong Kong to London to New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles called, each leaving an indelible mark.But not all lessons were in air-conditioned conference rooms. On the frost-kissed pavements of New York, homelessness taught me unparalleled resilience. Yes, I was homeless in New York. For several weeks! And it was humbling to experience and feel the ‘nothing left to lose.’Yet, amidst this cacophony, I sought solace. I found it in the serene embrace of the Ananda Ashram in Monroe Mountains over in NY state.The satsangs at Joshua Tree in the Californian desert and experiences at Burning Man, enriched by the melodies of Grammy-winners like my dear friend Jai Uttal and Krishna Das, continue to be a lifelong spiritual elixir. In the sun-soaked vistas of Santa Monica pier at Los Angeles, encounters with Sri Sri at the Whispering Hills in Boone added layers to my evolving spiritual mosaic.Through a couple of marriages, global downturns, peaks of success, valleys of failures, spiritual awakenings, and myriad stories, I stand at a crossroad, pen-poised, ready to script this tapestry of experiences — as a new life beckons.As I embark on etching an autobiography, I invite you, dear friends, to traverse with me — through neon-lit skyscrapers, tranquil spiritual retreats, high-octane boardrooms, bare back Dharamsala vipasanas and those poignant moments of silent introspection.And yet, in this vast canvas of memories and adventures, a thought lingers: Is my story even worth the ink?
