For me it was a more technical environment, more hands on and had a management aspect to it as well. Trained students in Power Engineering DepartmentRole: TUT had a vacant position for a Lab Technician in the Power Engineering Department. As part of my Engineering Qualification we had to do 3 semesters (18 months) experiential training through an accredited engineering company. After completing 12 Months Mechanical training, I only needed 1 semester (6 months) of training for my Electrical Experiential Training, but enjoyed my time at TUT so much that I extended my contracts for an additional 12 months. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to do my practical training and continue studying part time at TUT, completing some of my mechanical subjects. The main objective and responsibility of the position was to assist students with electrical practical experiments and tests.
