Provide well engineering technical expertise to deepwater exploration, appraisal & development projects for Ecopetrol in operated and non-operated assets. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in Colombia, US GoM and Brazil to design, plan, and execute drilling operations in compliance with HSE policies, government regulations and international well integrity standards.• Carry out all required planning & engineering work in the Well Delivery Process (Feasibility, Concept Selection, Basis of Design, Detailed Engineering, Risk Analysis, Cost Estimation, Peer Reviews, Assurance Reviews, etc.) to the required level within the required timeframe to ensure successful management approvals at each decision gate.• Preparation of Drilling Program, generate AFE and Cost requirements. Liaise with government agencies on well permits and technical regulations. Prepare End of Well Report, conduct performance analysis, post-well reviews and make recommendations to optimize future drilling operations based on lessons learned.• Work as field drilling engineer on a 6th generation dual activity semi-submersible assisting with daily operations, drillers instructions, cement jobs, casing tallies, and reporting among other responsibilities. Also carry out advanced planning meetings, after-action reviews and maintain a lessons-learned database.• Support contracting, tendering and procurement activities related to drilling services. Define specification, equipment selection, tender documentation and scope of work. Liaise with service providers to ensure equipment readiness, on-time deployment with correct certifications, quality assurance/control and testing.• Utilize well construction software (WellCat & WellPlan) to provide complex well designs for deepwater wells. Prepare robust engineering analysis simulating drilling, completions, testing and production scenarios, using multistring analysis for service loads, APB modeling, mitigation and survival load design.

Evaluate well results, utilize probabilistic methods and formation evaluation techniques for field development planning, integrating subsurface, surface and financial data to estimate and optimize well placement and well performance. Liaise with drilling, geomechanics, petrophysics and testing teams to build business cases and accelerate first-oil in near field exploration opportunities.

Field engineer for onshore development wells in Castilla & Chichimente fields. USD 4.0-5.0 MM wells drilled to ~10,000 ft MD and >50° inclination. Provide technical support to the Company Man with operations, logistics, cost tracking, daily reporting and capturing lessons learned. Participate in critical operations for producing and injection wells, such as E-Line and TCP perforating, tough-logging conditions, stimulations, injectivity tests, remedial cement jobs, ESP running and selective completions.
