Improving health outcomes using evidence-based nutrition and exercise is what drives me to pursue a career in dietetics. I am passionate about eating disorder recovery and I have recently completed my honours thesis in the eating disorder space. My thesis focus was understanding the education and training needs of dietitians to provide safe and effective care to people recovering from an eating disorder. I am eager to work clinically with people recovering from an eating disorder and I am committed to helping individuals improve their relationship with food and their bodies. I am seeking opportunities within nutrition and dietetics, to gain experience and expand my scope of knowledge in this field. Through experience in allied health, education and retail I have developed an array of skills that can be transferred to my desired field of study. These skills include:Patient Etiquette and Customer Service relations- I have had experience addressing the needs of patients and customers, as well as effectively communicating with individuals of various backgrounds in both a clinical and customer service-based setting.Team Work- through the volunteer work that I have actively participated in, during shifts at Mõvepick and when assisting the head dentist at Smiles at Bronberg, I have learnt how to effectively work in a team to achieve our specific goals. I aspire to use the knowledge that I have learned in Exercise Science and the experience I gain in dietetics to empower individuals to restore relationships with food, and improve their overall health whilst juggling a busy work life.
