As a Sr. Production Team leader at Maple Leaf’s new flagship facility my main focus is coaching and mentoring a group of Team Leaders (Supervisors) through the comprehensive learning opportunities the plants ramp-up stages have to offer. My concentration is engaging the Team Leaders and a group of up to 50 team members to develop, execute, and sustain processes which adhere to our robust programs while putting the company’s goals first. By actively adhering to Food Safety, Six Sigma practices, OH&S, and a high performance people system our team has ensured the ability to achieve the facilities challenging milestones to date.

During my time as Commissioning PM I was representing Production for Maple Leafs new ‘Heritage’ facility. I had the opportunity to develop a broad spectrum of resources to ensure an effective implementation of the tools and cultures we utilize today. Some of these aids are listed below:- Travelled abroad to perform Factory Acceptance Tests on four key pieces of equipment to ensure adherence to commitments before taking possession of such equipment.- Lead and executed seven separate performance guarantee tests on various pieces of equipment while coordinating deficiencies between OEMs, engineering teams, and commissioning teams.- Performed over 100 successful interviews to build an effective and performing team within operations across multiple skill levels and roles.- Developed detailed jobs tasks and training kits for over 80 different production and material handling roles across the facility.- Acted as a Systems Key User for the execution of our SAP go-live, MES integration, and various other applications used in our automated environments.

Providing direction and leadership to hourly associates and responsible for safety, productivity, yields, equipment operation, training, quality and continuous improvement through initiative and guidance. Actively perform practices in the areas of GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, Positive Employee Relations, Six Sigma methodologies, and other programs.•Ensure a high level of morale is maintained among associates under my direction and create an environment where associates are motivated to achieve company goals and objectives.•Lead work groups and help to identify projects through coaching and guidance of the group, in an effort to improve quality and productivity in multiple areas.•Monitor the performance of all personnel and activities under my supervision on a regular basis to ensure optimum performance, and provide counseling and/or corrective action to associates not meeting expectations.•Mentor, prepare and recommend associates under my direction for opportunities within the company.•Confer with managers and supervisors of other departments to coordinate inter-department activities and provide feedback regarding inter-related department issues.•Initiate and participate in the design and implementation of improved production and cost reduction methods through the use of Six Sigma.•Work proactively to ensure customer order deadlines are met, supervising overtime shifts when required.

•Selected for a 16 month internship experience on the Cisco customer focus team; contract extended on a part time basis upon return for third year studies•Managed 1500 parts in six product families in an SAP environment with maximum daily spending of $32 million US•Confidently managed 38 global suppliers to procure materials and maintain clean metrics such as purchase order confirmations, materials in transit, and mitigating materials to avoid excess inventory dollars•Experienced in using a variety of purchasing strategies such as MRP, ROP, Buy-to-Backlog, Bill Plan Strategy, and Two-Bin System•Run and action numerous reports such as dashboards, demand and supply highlights, and critical shortage analysis•Frequent participation in conference calls communicating status updates and solutions to both customer and suppliers•Avoid excess and obsolete materials in collaboration with site in Thailand•Manually schedule orders while taking into the affect on supply and demand•Allocate materials and expedite internal and external processes to ensure on time delivery•Successfully led a project to decrease customer lead time record discrepancies from 1700 to under 90 within 60 days•Provide consultation to Business Controls team to streamline a variety of business processes•Responsible for parallel training new team members and serving as a reliable source of assistance to colleagues•Selected as the first Celestica intern to participate on an international assignment; sent to Monterrey, Mexico for four weeks to manage a portfolio, share best practices and trouble shoot poor processes. Worked remotely on behalf of Monterrey for four additional months in addition to full time responsibilities on Cisco team.
