Complex problems don't give up their secrets easily. I use research and data to find high-yield leverage points to improve early literacy outcomes. My team and I help community partners increase impact through a combination of evidence-informed knowledge, local resources (dollars, people, etc.), and processes for continuous improvement.One of the big challenges in the social sector is creating change at scale. I use evidence-informed approaches to support belief and behavior change to improve outcomes at scale. This includes building collaborative funding and partner networks, and strengthening local capacity to use evidence-informed strategies and resources.I aim to lead with rigor -- thinking, planning, doing, and improving. The children and communities we serve deserve every ounce of analytical rigor we can muster.Ideas matter, but getting things done matters even more. Strategy without execution is just theory. I refuse to let perfect be the enemy of the good. I believe execution is 80% “follow up” and “follow through.” The other 20% is figuring out what to do. What we say "no" to is just as important (if not more) than what we say "yes" to. I constantly try to heed John Wooden’s admonition to not confuse activity with accomplishment. I strive to be analytically clean and operationally consistent.
