I am currently employed as a Compliance Officer at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) head office in Sandton, my core functions include the implementation and updating of the Corporation’s legal universe, conducting compliance monitoring, drafting of CRMPs, Conducting Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) in terms of FICA in order know and understand our clients. Since the IDC is a Public entity, the core legislation applicable includes amongst others, the PFMA, FICA and POPI.I am also responsible for the coordination of compliance awareness as an obligation in terms of FICA to provide training to staff members, this includes liaising with authorized service providers to facilitate legislative training to staff members on Core legislation and reviewing of training material to ascertain if it meets the Corporation’s expectations.
