Helped co-founders with branding (corporate identity, messaging), initial UI/UX prototyping and design, marketing deliverables, and fundraising presentation. The company was backed by Scale Ventures, Rustic Canyon Partners, IAC, and Steamboat Ventures. MerchantCircle served over 2M local merchants and 25M monthly consumers; achieved profitability, 3 years of over 60% annual growth, and 90% gross margins. The company was sold in 2011 for $60M to Reply!

Acquired by Connexity. Become.com was a leading e-commerce search engine and marketing services company operating in US, Asia, and Europe. The company delivered qualified leads to over 5,000 of the world's leading retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Sears, and BestBuy. The company raised over $37M in venture capital funding from TPG, EFF, Transcosmos, Ron Conway, and other Silicon Valley angel investors. Worked with founders as an advisory board member on issues relating to marketing, product, and UI/UX. Was sold to Connexity/Shopzilla in early 2015.

Acquired by MTV/Viacom. Work with the LA-based founding team to create a technologically advanced social network backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and MTV. Responsible for product design, UI/UX, and prototyping. Tagworld quickly grew to 3M active users before being sold to Viacom.

Was Co-founder and VP of Market Development at Epicentric, the leading provider of Business Portal solutions for Global 2000 companies to deliver integrated Web services to their customers, partners and employees. As the original VP of Marketing was responsible for the successful launch of the company. Founded in 1998, Epicentric had over 300 employees and 350 Global 2000 customers and raised $103M before it was acquired by Vignette (VIGN), the industry leader in enterprise content management, in December 2002.

Acquired by Motorola (Tut Systems). ActiveTelco engineered one of the first API-driven embedded telephony platforms for the VoIP industry, providing simple web access to complex telephony functions. Helped team with branding, marketing, and product design deliverables, plus helped them raise $1.5M in seed and venture funding. The company was acquired by TUT Systems for $36M in January 2002.

Acquired by Yahoo! One of the first "social media" Internet services with over 160 employees and 50M users. Acquired by Yahoo in 2000 for $450M. Funded by Sequoia Capital.

Acquired by Ericsson. Successfully launched the WebSwitch, a network-based phone system, at Networld Interop 97 that went on to win six industry awards including Computer Telephony's Best of Show (CT Expo 97) and Editors Choice Awards.

Acquired by Vignette. Successfully launched RandomNoise Coda, the first All Java Web site builder. Coda went on to win several awards including Best of Show at Demo '97, Best of Show at Web '97, Hot Pick at Seybold '97 (New York), and Hot Pick MacWorld '97 (San Francisco).

Held P&L responsibility for the company's Desktop Group business unit. Successfully built and grew the unit's marketing effort responsible for a third of the company's revenue.
