Setting up Group policies, virtual private network - VPN, enabling disk quotas, configuring distributed file system, implementing fault tolerance and disaster recovery (disk mirroring / duplexing, disk striping with parity), naming conventions, organizational units, terminal services, print servers, backing up and restoring strategies.

Worked on the Foundation Project for Hewlett Packard Australia. Tasks included upgrading EMG – Email Metals Group, an HP client to Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 platform. The project undertook the up gradation of 3000 PCs Australia wide. Installation, configuration of new computers and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Servers and Workstations. Monitoring, diagnosis and correction of hardware and software problems using remote management tools. The rollout dealt with Y2K compliance and provided Managed Desktop Environment (MDE).

Worked for Educom Australia – a well reputed Microsoft Certified Technical Education Center (CTEC), Novell Authorized Education Center (NAEC) and Lotus Authorized Education Center (LAEC) Computer Training Institute in Melbourne. Jobs included installation, configuration and up gradation of hardware, TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBEUI, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95/98 and Windows 2000 Beta 3. Setting up computer labs according to Microsoft standards, providing 2nd and 3rd level technical support to students, trainers and staff members was a part of the job.
