I developed perception algorithms for intelligent mobile platforms in various applications such as ADAS for highway driving and autonomous off-road mobility. My primary responsibility was to realize multi-object tracking algorithms which effectively incorporate information acquired by multiple sensors, such as lidars, radars, and cameras. Additionally, I supervised a team of engineers focused on various perception problems, e.g., probabilistic occupancy mapping and pose estimation, based on information provided by lidar, IMU, GNSS, and vehicle odometer.

- I participated in the following fundamental courses: Signals and Systems, Feedback Systems, Discrete-Time Systems, and Digital Signal Processing. I conducted recitation classes, prepared and graded homework and term projects.- I also assisted the laboratory courses offered within the control specialization area, such as Process Control Laboratory, Laboratory of Feedback Control Systems. I supervised students during experiments, updated experiment manuals, prepared supplementary materials, prepared and graded theoretical exams and weekly quizzes.

Laboratory Setups for Control and Robotic ApplicationsWe got funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and founded a start-up company in Technopolis, METU. We designed and manufactured several laboratory setups, such as a rotational inverted pendulum and a two degree-of-freedom helicopter, to be used in teaching and research activities concerning control and robotic applications.

Research Group For Interaction Systems

I developed and engineered control loops for servo systems, which consist of multiple actuators and sensors, such as encoders, and inertial sensors. I engaged in all phases of control system development and integration, such as - setting the requirements for hardware and software components, - deriving and identifying mathematical models for mechanical systems, - designing control algorithms by using tools from classical and modern control theory, e.g., transfer functions, frequency domain analysis (Nyquist/Bode plots), state-space models, - implementing embedded control software in Matlab/Simulink running on a processor in real-time, - testing and validating the developed software through in-lab and field tests.
