Mr. Polat has more than 25 years of experience in many architectural design projects, application projects, measured drawings, restoration and conservation of historical projects in various firms since 1997. Between the years 2001-2013 he worked in design studios and application project studios in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He presented many scientific papers in international congresses and symposiums. He has articles in different architectural journals. He has got prizes in various degrees in national and international architectural competitions in recent years. He has worked as Resident Engineer for Six Senses Elite Shores Project for Dar Al Handasah between 2017-2018 and completed the same project for EMR Mimarlık as the Project Manager as of Aug 2019. The project Six Senses Elite Shores Project was mainly a restoration and reconstruction project of 150 years old Saitpaşa and Kocataş Mansions in Bosphorus Sarıyer which has been designed as hotel for 46 rooms with a 15000 m2. He has been leading the site supervision team which mainly provides day to day and overall planning, coordination of all disciplines on site, coordination of design groups.He has worked in 2016-2017 in Hill International Group for Sülyemaniye Rehabilitaion and Urban Transformation project as the lead design consultant for the design group of all stake holders for the client Qatari Diar. After joining the Grontmij group in 2009 he worked as senior architect till 2011. He worked as the coordinator of design department in Grontmij between the years 2011-2016. He coordinated many projects regarding the green and sustainable design, design issues and coordinated the BREEAM certification processes. He leaded EU founded architectural and engineering projects for Grontmij lead by the Ministry of Science and Technology in those years. He provided site supervision and project management services for five star hotels, retail and residential buildings all over Turkey.He has been titled as Associate Professor in 2021 and has been giving seminars and lectures in architectural design, urban development history various universties in Turkey.
