In April 2022, I made the bold decision to leave my Mechanical Engineering profession and move to Istanbul alone to improve my software development skills. The journey was not easy and there were times when I wanted to give up, but I never did. Instead, I pushed through the challenges and dedicated myself to learning as much as possible.Upon arriving in Istanbul, I made it a priority to familiarize myself with the most commonly used programming languages and technologies in the industry. After researching, I found that .Net core, React, and SQL were in high demand among employers.I started by learning .net core, which is a cross-platform, open-source framework for building modern applications. I found it to be a powerful tool for building web applications and services, and it quickly became my go-to for developing enterprise-level software.Next, I delved into React, which is a popular JavaScript library for building user interfaces. I found it to be a flexible and efficient way to build responsive, dynamic web applications.Finally, I learned SQL, which is a powerful language for managing relational databases and it provided me with the necessary skills to effectively query, insert, update, and delete data from databases.Now, as a software developer at a corporate company, I am utilizing the skills I acquired during my journey. It was a challenging journey, but it was all worth it.I am grateful for the opportunity to have gained these skills and the opportunity to apply them in my career. I would encourage anyone considering a similar journey to go for it and never give up, as the rewards are well worth it.
