Assessment of the camper's who had injuries and /or major complaints of discomfort, lacerations, abrasions, difficulty breathing and any medical concerns. Gave the campers scheduled and PRN medications. Scheduled campers to see the physician when needed. Notified physician and family of camper when camper needed to be seen in the local ED. Always documented on campers that were seen in the infirmary. Documented treatment on campers. Documented on notification of campers parent's either via telephone or email if unable to get in touch via telephone. Documented daily on campers that have a concussion after assessment of vital signs and complete neurological assessment. If camper needs to be watched closely or given treatments for respiratory insufficiency the camper becomes a patient in the infirmary until he is stable and no longer needs respiratory treatments or close monitoring of his vital signs. If needed immediately outside in a specific area the infirmary is notified via 2 way radio and one of us takes the golf cart to the designated area or field. I have always worked with neonates, children and adolescents. This group and their families have made me feel needed and very rewarding .

Clinical nurse on Maternal Child Health Unit (OBS/Pediatrics). Began working at Seton Unit in 1971 then merger of Seton & Thayer hospital became Mid-Maine Medical Center. Have always worked Pediatrics as main clinical area since being hired.

Responsible for checking 6th graders immunization status, update, Tdap clinics at 30 Middle schools and giving other omitted immunizations per parental consent. After clinics all computer needed to be updated on the 6th grade middle school children.
