I hold a degree in Psychology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1984), a master's degree in Social Medicine from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (1997) in Mexico-DF, I studied for a doctorate in Social Sciences & Health at the University of Barcelona (1998) and a doctoral internship via the Vilmar Faria Program at the University of Texas at Austin (2004) with an emphasis on the evaluation of Public Policy. I completed my PhD in Humanities: Sociology and Politics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG (2008) and in 2012 and post-doctoral studies at the University of Oxford as a research associate of the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative - OPHI (2012) with emphasis on the multidimensional poverty approach. I have extensive teaching experience, working in undergraduate and graduate courses in various areas of health sciences and applied social sciences, covering topics such as Educational Psychology, Public Policy, Contemporary Public Management, Public Health, among others. As a researcher, I have developed expertise, mainly, in elaboration, monitoring and evaluation of Social Policies with the application of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. I have acted as coordinator and consultant in several governmental and non-governmental projects in partnership with public and private entities in order to improve the targeting of their objectives and maximize their results. Throughout my professional career I have built a national and international network with several professionals and institutions that enables me to develop consulting and research activities in relevant themes in the field of public/social policies. Currently, I provide consultancy to public and private entities focusing on the areas of Management and Evaluation of Social Projects, Political and Electoral Assistance, Elaboration of Master Plans, Research in Public Health, Analysis in Social Development and Assistance, among others.
