Our aim is to support Medical Engineering students both academically and professionally throughout their degree.In 2015, we have:- over tripled paid membership- secured professional and financial support from QUT Science and Engineering Faculty (International and Engagement), QUT Alumni office, QUT Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, Engineers Australia College of Biomedical Engineers Queensland, UQ Asia-Pacific Centre of Neuromodulation & Hear and Say Centre- lead 13 students on a Sydney Industry Tour to meet with Cochlear, Ottobock and UNSW Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering- connected students with alumni, industry and cross-institution academics

As part of QUT's Vacation research experience scheme (VRES), I was able to work with the Trauma Research Group at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, undertaking a small research project over 10 weeks. During this time I was able to:- Use microCT as a qualitative and quantitative tool,- Use Instron materials testing machines, and- Perform statistical analysis to evaluate results.
