Madam was a live events and live entertainment business I founded with Adam Driscoll.We merged the business with Vision Nine to create the Vision Nine Entertainment Group in May 2014.

BBC Worldwide Limited is the commercial arm of the British Broadcasting Corporation. We're a private company, wholly-owned by the BBC and although we're run along normal commercial lines, all our profits go back to the BBC to be reinvested in making great programmes. 2010/11 revenues were over £1 billion across the whole business.

Boring Limited is an internet incubator associated with Acknowledgement Limited, a digital creative agency based near Liverpool Street in central London. Boring's aim is to create websites and digital businesses for itself and as joint ventures with others.

Garner plc is the parent company of Garner International and Norman Broadbent, two executive search businesses. On a project basis I assisted Garner with its acquisition of Norman Broadbent, which constituted a reverse takeover under the AIM Rules. The acquisition was announced on 7 November 2008 and completed on 4 December 2008.

Midland was a specialist software provider - principally payroll and HR for large employers (at the time called Midland Software Limited).I joined as the in-house lawyer and company secretary and became Commercial Director in October 1998. Aside from the usual legal stuff my main role was handling contract negotiations (often values in excess of £1m, many with government bodies) and also oversaw operation of the managed services division (an early version of software as a service).

E-On was way ahead of its time, a digital distribution platform and online community for computer games launched in 1996. Funded by DMGT and a number of private equity investors, it built multi-player games and licensed titles from leading publishers of games in the UK, US and Germany. Regrettably, much-vaunted residential broadband internet access took too long to arrive and management and investors agreed to close the company down after two years.
