Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the installation (emergency services, infrastructure support, leisure activities, training support, essential admin services) as well as developing a plan and vision for the future of this strategically important Army post.Installation highlights:-1.12 million acres in size with interests in Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico. - Four general officer commands on the installation with a population over 30,000 soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen.- Largest training area in the Department of Defense- Largest airfield with the most passengers and busiest cargo operations in the US ArmyKey accomplishments:- Led a team to plan, coordinate, and gain approval for a $1 Billion plan to revitalize the installation. - Advocated for and then received over $100 Million in Congressional funding to meet the needs of the installation. - Ran a $2MM business operations division of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation with two golf courses, 6 pools, 52 lane bowling alley, a conference center, several food retail operations, and more which exceeded NIBD goals and showed significant annual growth over two year command. - Provided the requisite guidance /resources to increase the throughput of activated Army National Guard, Army Reserve, DOD Contractors, and joint service personnel by 30% (37,000 in FY16 to 50,000 in FY19) as one of only two Army Mobilization Force Generation Installations. - Cultivated relationships with Congressional Representatives, the El Paso, Texas Mayor, City Council, City Manager, Chamber of Commerce, and civic institutions resulting in a new external advocacy organization and greater teamwork between El Paso, Fort Bliss, and two other installations.
