Murray Brown is a full‐time hospitality and general business broker, currently employed by GMO (WA), where he has sold, appraised and valued businesses for 25 years. GMO (WA) is Western Australia's largest business broking practice and one of the largest such firms nationally. For the majority of the last ten years, Murray has been the largest writer of businesses for that firm. During that time, Murray has sold in excess of 280 businesses ranging in price from $70,000 to $8.25 million and performed business appraisal/valuation consultations in over 300 additional instances. Murray's areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, Hotels, Motels, Resorts (and their management rights), Liquor Stores, Restaurants and Professional Practices. Murray is a corporate member of Tourism WA, Licensed Stores Association and the Small Bar Association. In addition, Murray has consulted to the Western Australian Government, the Rottnest Island Authority, many local governments and to several public companies. Murray has also guest lectured at Edith Cowan University, Curtin University and the CPA Society. He is currently the lecturer in Business Broking at Perth's largest real estate RTO- West Coast Property Training. Prior to work with GMO (WA), Murray practiced in an accounting partnership in Western Australia, in addition to a position as a senior accountant in a hospitality public company in NSW / ACT. Murray also owned and operated Western Australia's largest stocktaking and asset valuation business. He has also been an owner of a Perth Tavern and a CBD Liquor Store.
