I found my love for design whilst travelling. I didn't go looking for it but the more I travelled the more I noticed I was drawn to the cultural arts of each country and the nuances from each culture. I applied to study Graphic Design part time with the University of Hertfordshire whilst in Australia and began studying remotely whilst working full time. Choosing an alternative route for study was a challenge that tested me and my ability to perform under pressure, it was the push I needed to take the initial steps in a career focused on graphic design. As I entered my second year of studies I used my professional development module to shape my portfolio that I then began sending out to small branding studios via adverts on Instagram and Indeed. In October 2021, I was picked up by Boredom Kills Creative, an agency focused on the food and beverage sector. My initial role at BKC was to help Alex (Owner) with the day to day design work from his clients on retainers, the work included re designing menus, creating flyers, illustrating and general graphic design. After working with Alex for a few months we began to work more on internal brand strategy as well as brand strategy for clients and I found this to be where my creative brain really thrived. As I finished my second year at the University of Hertfordshire I decided to transfer to Falmouth University to finish my last year in a new environment. I felt I needed to challenge myself more, get out of my comfort zone and expand my network. Falmouth is known for having one of the best graphic design degrees in the UK and I wanted a part of it.

Freelance Graphic DesignerBoredom Kills Creative Oct 2021 - Aug 2022Eastbourne, England, United KingdomWhilst studying part time I wanted to gain valuable industry experience so I applied for a role at BKC and started working with Alex Adams on branding projects focused around CPG and the food and beverage industry. Working at Boredom Kills Creative was a great platform for me to develop my design skills and work on building client relationships. From my time working at Boredom Kills Creative I got a better idea of which direction I wanted to move towards in my career path.
