Extensive profit and loss general management experience of SME industrial businesses in Melbourne based on multi-site, in-house job manufacturing, local and import third party supply and national distribution. My strengths are in delivering business growth via increasing sales, strict management of cost and building effective teams. My natural bias is to developing enduring relationships with customers by ensuring the business has the tools and means to keep its promises. Key to this being improvement and innovation in product offer, business process and team capabilities.Industry experience includes specialty fibre packaging and printing, industrial grade indoor and outdoor signage supply and installation and plastic extrusion/textiles production and wholesale distribution.Direct reporting lines have varied and included business owners, private equity board representatives, corporate head office senior executives.Keys to success: understand your product and customer, know the detail, build people capabilities and delegate, effectively manage up and down, promote personal accountability throughout the business.Current status: In late 2023 my wife and I decided to make 2024 the year to travel the world whilst we still have good health and no grandchildren on the horizon. Returning to Melbourne in January 2025.Future: Interested in part-time advisory or consulting opportunities where I can share my years of learnings and experiences, Helping to shape, resource and prepare SME businesses for the future.
