Regency Media is an independent optical media manufacturing operation with approximately 150 employees that produces CD, DVD, BD media across three manufacturing sites (Braeside – VIC, Northmead – NSW, Kolkata – India). My positions at Regency Media changed 3 times since my start in 1999. A promotion to Plant & Engineering manager of the Victorian facility from Engineering manger and later to Engineering & Quality manager due to our business diversifying into another industry requiring my total focus on engineering and quality. The following responsibilities and key achievements cover my extensive experience at Regency Media.Role Responsibilities• Prepare, implement and manage engineering department budgets• Manage the ISO quality program, CDSA anti piracy, copy protection programs and quality limits and specifications• Manage a team of 12 Engineers and technician across 3 shifts 24/7 to provide the necessary engineering and maintenance support to all plant and equipment to enable the production schedule to meet the required deadlines.• Managed automated and manual production workflows on a daily basis to tight despatch deadlines.• Co-ordinate and manage stock levels to ensure work in not interrupted, but keeping inventory levels at a minimum. This was particularly challenging with much of the stock being shipped in from overseas.Key Achievements• Designed facility layouts from the ground up. Project managed all 3 sites with Regency. The VIC and NSW branches have undergone substantial expansions since their initial construction, all of which had to be planned and executed. This was done on time and to a very strict budget process.• Equipment selection, requiring international travel to investigate equipment and negotiations to achieve best possible purchase deal which included additional items such as installation, spare parts etc..

Pacific Mirror Image, formally known as Disctronics, was the first optical media manufacturing plant in Australia beginning production in Jan 1987. It expanded its operations to include facilities in Southwater, UK and Huntsville, USA. Role Responsibilities• Lead a team of 16 Engineers and technician across 3 shifts 24/7 to provide the necessary engineering and maintenance support to all plant and equipment to enable the production schedule to meet the required deadlines.• Provide input to enable repairs and maintenance budget to be prepared.Key Achievements• Develop a reject analysis program to highlight downtime and process improvements required to lower the reject rate. After a 3 months period the reject rate had dropped 7% eliminating waste and improving OEE.• Travel to our international facilities to perform specific injection moulding machine process tuning and deliver troubleshooting and high level maintenance training.

NRC International was an engineering company, speciality equipment manufacturer and service provider for the plastics and pharmaceutical industries located in VIC with approximately 24 employees.Role Responsibilities• Manage the design and manufacture of speciality equipment and machines for the plastics and pharmaceutical industries.• Project manage the construction of clean-room facilities for pharmaceutical applications.• Organise and manage the importation of specialty equipment through to the installation and commissioning at customers facilities.Key Achievements• Managed the development of a new style injection moulding takeout robot with multipurpose tooling for runner detachment.• Develop a training program covering basic plastics understanding and troubleshooting injection moulding machinery and processes. This was then delivered at Tupperware VIC across their 3 shifts of production operators.• Implement and maintain a spare part inventory system for multiple manufacturers and suppliers of parts to suit plastic injection moulding equipment.
