Glasgow

Glasgow was Giles Head Office. The Branch Manager has full responsibilty for the branch P&L giving a level of autonomy not normally associated with consolidators. This encourages an entrepreneurial approach to running the branch which has been shown by it's results to be effective.My role as Branch Manager was in addition to the Regional Manager role which was expanded by the addition of Ayr and Newton Stewart offices.

As Regional Manager I was in place to support the Branch Managers/Directors within my region, which encompassed 75% of the Scottish offices. I had my own account in the Inverness office which I serviced and I managed the Glasgow Office on a day to day basis. Giles bought MacFarlane Bruce in May 2004 and I was asked to be Branch Manager in Inverness and also oversee Fort William and Skye offices as Regional Manager. This role developed and I was asked to oversee Aberdeen then Dundee offices as well. This basically entailed dealing with everything alongside the branch managers ie HR, Compliance and Sales. It was my role to make sure all the offices were on budget and if not to assist in getting them there.
