Torness

Formerly instructing trainee Fuel Route Engineers and Operational Technicians at Torness. Now based at Barnwood in the company HQ in Gloucester, developing initial Fuel Route, Technical Specification and other initial Nuclear related training courses, planning training using the Systematic Approach to Training process. Deployment of and compliance with the systematic approach for primarily initial training programmes, to support continuous improvement in plant and personnel performance. Providing site training support when required, coaching, feedback and guidance to reinforce fundamental work practices. Instruct on human error prevention techniques and technical knowledge to improve individual and plant performance. Providing advice and guidance on relevant training matters with particular reference to Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations, subject matter expertise and company training objectives. Instructor mentor of fellow instructors. Formerly responsible for the commissioning of the Torness station Reactor Floor Simulator and the delivery of training on the simulator. Completed the acquisition of a Control Desk Soft Simulator which has provided bespoke training on the fuel route away from the critical path. Participated in a successful Accredited Training Visit to Dungeness B and Hunterston B as a team member.

Managed a team of 4 with the responsibility for all internal and external media communications at RAF Lossiemouth which included public relations, organising press facilities, press releases and media supervision during high profile visits.
