As Chief Scientific Officer of Empress Therapeutics I establish the overall research and preclinical development strategy while managing the day-to-day operations of the Empress Research teams. i Partner closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Innovation Officer to ensuring continuous innovation of the Chemilogics platform to deliver first in class small molecule therapeutics to address unmet medical needs. Prior to Empress I was SVP & Global Head of Janssen’s World Without Disease Accelerator (WWDA), where I led R&D teams passionate about preventing and intercepting diseases, including Type 1 Diabetes, Cancer and Early Childhood Diseases, before they even start. Previously I was VP Immunology Discovery at Janssen. With over 35 years of industry experience in global pharmaceutical roles, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in drug discovery and early development, with a track record of driving scientific innovation in internal programs and through external partnerships. Prior to joining Janssen, I led several programs and teams in discovery and early clinical development as Head of Immunology Discovery for Bristol Myers Squibb.
