Responsible for West Coast investment management offering, managing global relationships with West Coast-based private equity and venture capital fund managers with aggregate AUM of over $60bn. Supported fund managers and their US counsel and tax advisers on a wide range of operational matters, including:• structuring, formation and ongoing maintenance of European, Asian and offshore SPVs, at both fund and portfolio company level;• Alternative Investment Fund Manager Directive (AIFMD)-related matters, including marketing of Cayman and Delaware funds into Europe pursuant to the National Private Placement Regime; Annex IV reporting; depositary and depo lite services; and establishing outsourced Alternative Investment Fund Manager platforms;• regulatory reporting requirements - FATCA/CRS reporting, Cayman Anti-Money Laundering Regime obligations, and US Partnership Representative regulations;• implementation of fund accounting and investor reporting services; and• coordinating global back office support for internationally expanding portfolio companies of private equity and venture capital funds.

Virgin Islands (British)

Senior Associate in Harneys’ British Virgin Islands (BVI) office, advising on all aspects of BVI corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, initial public offerings, takeovers, corporate restructurings and corporate aspects of shareholder disputes.Co-authored chapters of multiple editions of The Mergers & Acquisitions Review and, through involvement with the BVI Financial Services Business Development Committee, formed part of the select body of industry professionals tasked by the BVI Government with maintaining the BVI’s competitiveness as an offshore financial center.
