Key responsibilities: • Leading a team of 370, made up of both salary and wages personnel, I was responsible for the daily mining operation and implementing improvements in safety and changes to mining practices within the mining department to maximize the fleet productivity whilst maintaining the highest safety standards and reducing mining costs• Maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and contractors, ensuring compliance to all regulations under WA mining regulations and mining act• Developing and maintaining a positive and effective relationship with the client and other internal and external stakeholdersKey achievements: • Overseeing one of the fastest production ramp ups seen in the Pilbara, reaching sixty million tonnes of ore in an 18 month period• Increased shift effectiveness at shift change over period to full hot seating of mining fleet• Improved pre shift meetings, to ensure increased participation from workforce and supervisors• Overall reduction in TIRFR from 11 to 3.4 in the twelve months by improvements in employee engagement, reporting, supervisors actions and accountability for actions by all employees• Improved fleet utilization to over six and half thousand hours January 2013 – August 2013Leighton Contractors – UHG Coal Project, MongoliaMining Manager
