CurrentAs an honorary research fellow at the University of Dundee I specialise in oral history with a special interest in the English Diaspora. I have taught courses in oral history and modern Scottish history at the University of Dundee and Carleton University in Ottawa. I published 'Being English Scotland' (Edinburgh, 2003) and along with co-author Professor Marilyn Barber wrote "Invisible Immigrants: The English in Canada since 1945'' (University of Manitoba Press, 2015). Currently I am working to create a digitised archive and rugby heritage centre in Hawick capitalising on a wealth of documents, photographs and videos together with a miscellany of rugby memorabilia and artefacts belonging to Hawick RFC and the Bill McLaren Foundation
