My current role involves spearheading a ground-breaking, basin-scale Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project on cloud platforms, harnessing advanced GPU-based machine learning techniques for multi-terabyte scale data analysis. The project aims at automating the interpretation, assessment, and conditioning of a vast Gulf of Mexico subsurface dataset, which includes over 430,000 wells and thousands of seismic surveys. Our objective is to thoroughly identify and assess the viability and risks of more than 250 designated subsurface carbon storage locations, refining strategies for efficient CCS implementation. This initiative is pivotal in enhancing collaboration and accelerating innovation at scale.
