I’m working as a mentor on the Software Engineering Project unit - where students work in a team of five on a real client project for a year.This involves weekly meetings where I help guide my assigned team through their project and provide advice on software engineering best practices and how to work well in a team, as well as providing feedback and raising any issues they have to the teaching staff.I’ve additionally represented the University at numerous events such as open/offer-holder days, building tours, and induction labs.

I developed multiple systems from the ground up, being fully responsible for design, implementation, and deployment. I learned how to build systems where the requirements are made by someone else and not myself.Due to the success of my work, Claymatic extended my role after the internship, giving me the task of developing a new system for handling signups for their beta program."Murray joined Claymatic for a work placement and did an amazing job with very little guidance. Within the first day he was making considered changes to the codebase. He has implemented all of our backend services and helped get them ready for production. He also ran with some smaller tasks and expanded them into fully fledged systems such as achievement tracking and a novel system to generate player call-outs based on gameplay.
