I am an ever curious person who has never lost that childhood quality of asking lots of questions in the hope of better understanding whoever I am speaking too.I have a passion for trying to solve the big problems facing our society which has led me to being involved in politics at a local and national level, being on European think tanks and at times having to boil down complex issues into things my 2 young children can understand.If you want to have a conversation about anything you think may be interesting to me, lets grab a coffee.

    This was one of those roles that on paper should have been amazing but in reality just never amounted to what it could have been.We had a great product in XCaaS which brought UCaaS and CCaaS onto a single platform, integrated with MS Teams beautifully and had patented voice transit however the revolving door of senior leadership, a commoditised product that was commercially in a fight to the bottom with others in the sector and crashing stock prices of the voice sector in a post covid world proved to be too much.I learned a lot in this role, worked with some of the brightest minds in the sector but I realised that Communication Technology was now only viewed as a commodity product and I wanted to be in business critical technology so made the move to Pega.

    This should have been my best role ever, however I took over the UK Aviation team in February 2020, 6 weeks before Covid Lockdowns came in and closed out the sector. I endured 18 months of professional pain, stress and sleepless nights trying to help airlines speak to customers, handle thousands of complaints and refunds and try to stave off any more airlines going bust.This culminated in Oracle restructuring and the entire CX business being made redundant. A very sad time indeed for so many people.

    From childhood, I was always very politically aware. From being on the school council, active in the trade union when I was an apprentice Electrical Engineer, working with national political parties, fundraising, canvassing etc I decided that local politics was where I could make a real impact quickly.I was elected to Guildford Borough Council to represent Ash Wharf in Surrey. This was one of the hardest roles I have ever had, you realise how hard it is to get anything done and how you need passion, tenacity and bloody mindedness to survive. I was the cabinet member responsible for Business Transformation, Customer Service and PR. I led the Councils Digital and Engagement Services with the sole aim of making Guildford the most technologically advanced council in Britain.In my time we implemented BYOD with Advanced Wireless that enabled Councillors to work on iPads with fully secure remote desktop capabilities, UCaaS and a Digital-By-Default Agenda. We implemented Web-Casting for all Council meetings to broadcast live online for viewingby anyone including the infirm, elderly or disabled electorate who would be otherwise unable to participate in the wider democratic process. My Digital Engagement Strategy included digital self service, WebChat, eForms and iReporting. We implemented 2 way interactive services on our Web IP-TV platform allowing full public participation in any and all council meetings through Voice, Video, Web Chat and or Social Media.We implement Microsoft 365 with active Skype4Business (MS Teams) for Presence, IM and Collaborative workings, fully integrated with the existing Mitel MCD Telephony Platform, CCaaS contact centre for Omni-Channel Contact Centre and Active Visual-IVR acting as our first Guildford Mobile-App which allowed traffic awareness, car parking and payment services.
