John is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sonesta International Hotels, the 8th largest U.S. hotel company, with approximately 1,100 hotels across 13 brands in nine countries. John is also a managing trustee of lodging REIT Service Properties Trust (SVC). Through its growing portfolio of more than 100,000 guest rooms appealing to every type of traveler, Sonesta International Hotels Sonesta owns, manages and/or franchises  under The Royal Sonesta, The James, Sonesta Hotels & Resorts, Sonesta Select, Sonesta Essential, Sonesta ES Suites, Sonesta Simply Suites and Sonesta Cruise Collection operating in Egypt, also, Sonesta Posadas del Inca, Hotel RL, Red Lion Hotels, Red Lion Inn & Suites, Signature Inn, GuestHouse Extended Stay, Knights Inn, Americas Best Value Inn and Canadas Best Value Inn..Prior to Sonesta, John served as, President, CEO, and Managing Trustee of lodging REIT, Service Properties Trust (Nasdaq: SVC) and President, CEO and Managing Trustee of industrial REIT, Industrial Logistics Properties Trust (Nasdaq: ILPT).John serves as Member of several industry associations, including the Executive Committee of the Board of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), the AHLA Hotel Investment Roundtable and the Urban Land Institute Hotel Development Council. He also serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board of Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (SHA).
