CurrentThere is increasing evidence of strong associations between male reproductive health disorders and chronic disease, with suggestions that male reproductive health problems coexist with or represent a marker for other common conditions. Specifically, male reproductive health problems are often closely associated with undiagnosed cardiovascular disease. Timely medical and surgical treatment of male-specific illnesses delivers life changing outcomes for patients and transforms quality of life. The consequences of not undertaking these services are pain, psychosocial morbidity, economic inactivity and large downstream costs to the healthcare system. To address this need we are proud to introduce our plan for Flow Health Services, an integrated medical, surgical and diagnostic program dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of men`s health issues. Our model of care supports Ontario`s Action Plan for Health Care by providing timely access to these important services and by moving procedures into the community on a cost effective basis. Our vision is that in five years’ time we will be Ontario’s leading specialist men’s health service building an international profile for outstanding patient care, research and education. Men’s Health InstituteThe clinics will provide a programmatic approach to medical care for male-specific illnesses using established, evidence based care maps.
