I have 30+ years of experience in the engineering and design of specialty chemical and metallurgical process plants, including a diverse background in mechanical design, instrumentation, estimating, procurement and project management. This work encompasses feasibility studies, basic engineering and detailed design of hydrometallurgical plants and related processes for the extraction and recovery of non-ferrous metals such as gold, nickel, cobalt and copper.My assignments have included site work on a variety of projects for alkaline earth metals refining, titania purification, pressure oxidation and pressure leaching, as well as polymer, automotive paint, anti-oxidants, and organic acids production. This field experience includes construction, inspection and commissioning of several chemical process facilities for BASF and CIBA, troubleshooting of Rio Tinto's UGS pressure leach facility, inspection, commissioning and start-up of a pressure oxidative leach circuit in Zambia, and technical support for Barrick Gold's Pueblo Viejo facility in the Dominican Republic.I graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and an MBA from Queen's University, Smith School of Business. I am a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, and an active member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, AACE International, the Materials Technology Institute and ASM International.Countries of project work experience include: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Russian Federation, South Africa, USA, and Zambia.
