I have always had a strong interest in new technologies and disruptive business models. Working in venture capital since 1992, I assisted two dozen companies as an active board member and lead institutional investor. I participated in three IPOs, multiple strategic M&A events and successful recapitalizations that produced significant value for shareholders and management throughout multiple phases of the business cycle. Now working as a consultant and freelance board member, I am applying my private company investing expertise to help smaller tech companies in the region.I started my career in 1985 as the Assistant Investment Officer of Neworld Bank in Boston. I transitioned into venture capital at Blue Chip Venture Company in 1992. In 1995 I joined River Cities Capital Funds and became a Managing Director and General Partner. At River Cities, I led investments in software, technology and healthcare, with a particular focus on software-as-a-service (SaaS). In 2010, I co-founded SaaS Capital Fund, a specialty-lending fund that provides innovative "Growth Debt" solutions to expansion-stage SaaS companies.
