AWE manufactures and maintains the UK's nuclear deterrent. I transformed the Procurement & Supply Chain Management (SCM) function for this £1bn turnover business originally operated by Lockheed Martin. Significant change was required to modernise the approach and create a new operating model transforming from 'Purchasing' to 'Strategic Procurement'. The results enhanced both cost and risk management and were recognised by CIPS awarding AWE the Gold standard for Excellence in Procurement.

Chainge Consulting is a boutique consultancy specialising in Procurement Transformation and functional improvement. I worked on behalf of CIPS assessing organisations for the CIPS Corporate Standard. I spent time working in Sarajevo, Bosnia supporting the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development.

I was brought in to support this critical programme serving London Underground. Thales delivered an Automatic Train Control (ATC) system for four of London Underground’s Sub Surface Rail (SSR) lines: District, Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City.Discovering shortcoming in the procurement approach which endangered the entire programme I completed a detailed diagnostic of procurement function and the demand management approach to understand where tangible improvements could quickly deliver pace and cost reduction benefits for Thales. I led the procurement team, established new stakeholder relationships and introduced strategic procurement techniques delivering considerable benefits realised within 6 months.

I joined BP in 2002 and held 10 different positions in 14 years with a record of progression based on a reputation for delivery. I worked on projects in Algeria, Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, India, Libya, Russia, Malaysia and the US. I worked across the entire oil & gas value chain from Alternative Energy - Solar, Refining, Petrochemicals, Marketing - Castrol and Upstream - Wells.

Designed and established the optimal procurement organisation for this new multi-country region.Procurement leader accountable for integration across all Upstream procurement teams in support of new-country entry portfolio for deep-water exploration drilling: Australia, Brazil and Nova Scotia. Experienced cross-functional facilitator within complex multi-country project environments e.g. drilling, exploration and logistics; as well as business support e.g. legal, finance.Provided direction and oversight to teams located in Rio de Janeiro, Calgary and Perth.Determined the strategic direction of global procurement category teams on strategy for each project with total projected spend of circa $1bn.Senior stakeholder engagement and experienced in building strong relationships as advisor between Procurement and Wells engineering.

Led BP Upstream Global Wells Org Engineered Equipment PSCM team across 14 countries; responsible for developing and executing global market sector strategies for: Surface Wellheads & Trees, OCTG, Well Testing, Tubular Running Services and Emergency Well Control managing an annual spend circa $750m.
