I design and implement collaborative decision making processes related to water, public policy, and climate adaptation. My mediation/facilitation and consulting practice specializes in multi-stakeholder convening, strategic planning, public engagement, and writing. My passion is for rivers in western North America, and I have been fortunate to work on the Klamath, Colorado, Verde, Lower Gila, and Upper San Pedro. I have nearly a decade of experience consulting and facilitating in environmental services:- Policy & management consultant at CEA Consulting for 4 years. Served national-level environmental NGOs and a Fortune 250 energy company on policy research, political advocacy, regulatory strategy, and communications.- Our firm incubated the Klamath River Renewal Corporation. I managed stakeholder engagement and external communications resulting in FERC approval for the largest dam removal project on Earth to date.- In 2020, I joined Southwest Decision Resources, a team of independent facilitators working on collaborative approaches to natural resources and local/regional planning. I work primarily on water issues and with watershed collaboratives.- I received an MS in Water, Society, and Policy at the University of Arizona. I studied qualitative and quantitative methods, water economics/law, and conflict resolution. For my masters project, I worked with a team to pilot innovative engagement techniques and tools with the Bureau of Reclamation at the Colorado River Basin scale. - My academic research has been published in Environment and Planning: F, Climatic Change, World Development, and Geofluids.
