I am Abubakar, Mustafa Muhammad, a trained and experienced administrator; and environment Journalist with a specialty in News Writing and Reporting. I am an advocate of FAIRNESS in reportage. I am a former Kwara State Correspondent of Daily Trust Newspaper and Property & Environment reporter for the Media Trust Limited (publishers of Daily Trust Tabloids and owners of TrustTV and Multimedia outfit), Abuja. I am a graduate of Islamic/Mass Communication from the prestigious Bayero University, Kano, and a Diploma holder in Public Administration from the same University. I began my journalism career in the mid-'90s, after my brief exposure to the profession at the Kano Radio Broadcasting Corporation(KRBC) during my Industrial Training attachment during my Diploma program in the early ‘90s. After my brief stay in the administrative job, and upon my exemption from the NYSC scheme due to the age barrier, I was employed as NDE, Abuja pupilage staff-trainee on the Property & Environment Desk at the Corporate Office of the Media Trust Limited, Abuja, in 2005. Upon certificatory job, in addition to winning the best reporter of the year for two consecutive years, in 2005 & 2006, I was elevated and moved to Kwara State as the Medium State’s Correspondent and Head of Operations in the State in 2007.As a trained and experienced administrator, I worked and helped to establish administrative units of prominent and standard Schools; among these are Great Heights Academy, Abuja; Islamic Education Trust (IET) Schools; Nurul-Bayan International Academy and Al-Bayan International Academy in Abuja. I joined the services of the University of Ilorin after I resigned from the Media Trust Limited in October 2012, as Assistant Information Officer and rose through the ranks to Principal Information Officer in November 2021. I am a member of various committees within the University, among which are Ceremonials, Dress Code Committee, SERVICOM committees; Ag. Production Editor and Principal reporter, Unilorin Bulletin and 89.3 FM( Official Radio station of the University of Ilorin. I was the Chairman and Secretary to several committees, Kwara Council of the NUJ; and Academic Secretary of the International Institute of Journalism(IIJ), Ilorin Study Center.I am the North Central Zonal Coordinator, MMPN; National Publicity Secretary, ODU; Media Director, WOCWI; Head of Camps’ Information Unit for TMC, among others. I am also an active member of Professional bodies, such as NUJ, SWAN, Igbomina Professionals, IEMF, and among others.
