As a Planning Engineer in the Planning Department at Desan Shipyard, some of the duties that I am responsible for as below;*Arranging and attending the first, daily and final meetings which owner’s representative, vessel crew and shipyard side participate,*Estimating the durations and costs of the works of the project, determining the job scopes and monitoring the works to avoid and overcome delays, reviewing them throughout the project,*Conducting ship and workshop… Show more As a Planning Engineer in the Planning Department at Desan Shipyard, some of the duties that I am responsible for as below;*Arranging and attending the first, daily and final meetings which owner’s representative, vessel crew and shipyard side participate,*Estimating the durations and costs of the works of the project, determining the job scopes and monitoring the works to avoid and overcome delays, reviewing them throughout the project,*Conducting ship and workshop inspections to ensure the high quality,*Taking job orders from owner’s representative according to the needs of project, obtaining and analyzing quotes from relevant subcontractor companies, preparing additional offers, making entries of these additional job orders by using shipyard ERP program(IFS) and upon approval by the owner’s representative sharing them with shipyard departments and subcontractors,*Requesting of the necessary materials and equipments that conform specific technical standards and overseeing the delivery in time to the related departments of the shipyard,*Facilitating coordination and communication among the owner’s representative, vessel, shipyard, class societies and subcontractors with the aim of resolving concerns and performing prompt and corrective actions,*Providing, preparing and checking essential technical documents, reports, plans and certificates before issuing,*Drawing up preliminary and final invoices, organizing and settling the installments or single payments with owner’s representative as per the payment schedule in accordance with the tender,*Preparing and submitting the drydock repair report, final invoice, delivery reports/protocols and work done lists to owner's representative after the completion of works in the final phase,*Representing the shipyard in the best manner possible, securing the contract compliance and repair specifications to meet owner’s representative’s expectations with an aim of working for their future projects too.
