Strengthened and deepened BRAC’s Health and Education programming in 14 provinces across Afghanistan. Managed 3000+ staff through 17 direct reports , overseeing a $11 million portfolio funded by FCDO, GAC and World Bank through the Ministry of Public Health.

Gaziantep, Turkey

Implemented health programs for Syrian refugees and IDPs in Northern Syria and Turkey. Managed 1500+ staff through nine direct reports overseeing a $29 Million annual budget. Raised over $30Million, including 12 Million Euro from ECHO, $3 Million from US Department of State Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM), and $15 Million from the US Agency for International Development Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA).

Afghanistan And Tajikistan

Recruited as Country Director for Afghanistan and subsequently promoted to cover both Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Managed over 265 Afghan and 12 Tajik staff. Combined annual $11 Million budget. Raised $8 Million in funding. The only Country Director at that time in DRC to be entrusted with responsibilities for two countries.

Kabul, Afghanistan

On Merlin’s merger with Save The Children Afghanistan, transitioned to this role from that of Country Director of Merlin Afghanistan. Led recruiting, retention, and professional development of over 700 Education, Health, Nutrition, WASH, Child Protection, and Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Response specialists in 12 Afghan provinces.

Managed 600+ primarily medical staff through five direct reports. Administered $6 Million annual budget and raised over $17 Million in external donor funding. MERLIN was subsumed into Save The Children.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

This was a short-term US based consultancy which FOCUS offered to me at the conclusion of my tenure as Executive Officer of FOCUS Tajikistan.Drafted detailed conflict risk assessments on Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan. Also, developed a comprehensive and sophisticated Conflict Risk Assessment Index for FOCUS. This information allowed FOCUS, globally, to put more effective emergency response programming in place in these countries.

Dushanbe, Tajikistan

I led a diverse team of 77 humanitarian assistance professionals working from two locations – Dushanbe and Khorog – approximately 600 kms far from Dushanbe and in one of the most remote parts of the world. I reported to the Chair of the Board of Directors of FOCUS USA. I was responsible for a $2.5 million annual budget. My team developed and executed complex disaster risk reduction projects in poverty stricken and remote locations in the remote Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO) area. My accomplishments include: - Developed the Strategic Plan for FOCUS Tajikistan (FT) for the period 2009 – 2011 and 2012-2014, - Secured close to $ 7 million in external funding from five different funding agencies for projects in Afghanistan, Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan,- Managed the planning, implementation and evaluation of eight externally funded disaster risk reduction projects including a cross-border project with FOCUS Afghanistan.- Trained and managed, perhaps the most competent team of GIS professionals, of any NGO in Tajikistan.- Ensured representation of FOCUS in the sharing of best practices and experience at international forums / conferences in Tajikistan, Switzerland, Pakistan, Egypt, Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.- Collaborated with more than 20 relevant government, diplomatic and civil society agency leaders at the highest levels (including Ministers, Ambassadors and Governors) to advocate DRR related issues faced by the country and local communities.- Enhanced formal relationships of FOCUS with several diplomatic offices in Tajikistan including the United Nations, United Kingdom, European Commission, Switzerland, Germany, and Japan.- Secured the first climate change, DRR related grant in Tajikistan's history. A $ 3.6 million project funded by UK's DFID and Switzerland's SDC.- My work was appreciated by the Board through two, one year extensions, of a closed two year contract for a total of close to four years.

Complete executive responsibilities for managing the Fort Worth Division of a Dallas based corporation, that serves as a wholesaler to convenience stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex,• Over five years, increased annual revenues by 40% to over $25 million – during a period when the convenience store industry was suffering from declining revenues across North Texas,• Had 21 full-time staff reporting to me,• In my five years at Texas Wholesale, I reduced inventory by over 25%, substantially increased gross profit margins and reduced HR expenses by over 20%.

Led 77 employees in Dushanbe and remote Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast area, reporting directly to US based Board of Directors. Managed $2.5 Million annual budget and raised over $7 Million from external donors. Conceptualized and executed complex disaster risk reduction (DRR) projects, in poverty-stricken and remote locations, including a cross-border DRR project between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
