Mustafa Çıraklı is the Director of the Near East Institute at Near East University. He is also the co-founder of the Cyprus-based Association of Euro Mediterranean Studies (ASEMEDS). He completed his doctoral studies in Politics at Lancaster University (UK). During this time, he taught on various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Lancaster University and the University of Manchester on comparative politics, IR theory and European studies. His research interests lie at the intersection of conflict and identity, with a particular focus on Cyprus. He has published widely on the Cyprus conflict and on themes relating to the politics of Northern Cyprus, including its relations with Turkey, with the European Union, policy on migration and identity politics.
