Mustafa Kara is a Data Scientist at Chevron's Gulf of Mexico business unit and a part of an internal data science consulting team responsible for the delivery and support of analytic capabilities for the upstream business units supporting offshore production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico.In a prior role, Mustafa Kara worked as a Sr Data Scientist in Anadarko Petroleum Corporation’s Advanced Analytics and Emerging Technologies (AAET) Department where The AAET served as a centralized innovation and excellence organization responsible for identifying and developing Advanced Analytics and Emerging Technologies which provided differentiating capabilities across Anadarko’s business.Mustafa Kara holds a PhD degree from Georgia Institute of Technology. While a Ph.D. student, Mustafa developed a novel 3D CFD code for modeling Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) using the Immersed Boundary Method (IBM). He has a strong background in fluid mechanics and structural engineering, experienced in inter-disciplinary projects involving multi-scale problems and multi-physics modeling. After school, Mustafa Kara was hired at DNV GL where he performed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of complex structures and equipment used in Oil and Gas IndustryMr. Kara possess a high interest in developing automation solutions to reduce operation workflows in Oil&Gas using artificial intelligence and machine learning theory and practice, particularly neural networks and sequence-based models. Mr. Kara has also an interest in stepping into other Data Science domains as required, including Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis, Spatial Analysis, Image Analysis, and Data Engineering.Mr. Kara possesses exceptional problem solving and communication skills with a strong focus on collaboration with multi-functional teams.
