Mustafa KARABAĞLI was born on 12 August 1966 in Ödemiş. He completed primary and secondary education in Tire. In 1984 he graduated from Kuleli Military High School. He entered university exams the same year and won the right to enter the Ankara Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Engineering, Electrics and Electronics Engineering program. In 1989 he graduated from METU Faculty of Engineering, Electrics and Electronics Engineering program with an Electrics and Electronics Engineer degree. In the same year he started his career as an Electronics Engineer in the Research and Development Laboratory of VESTEL A.Ş. in 1991 he left VESTEL A.Ş. to found his own business, the Star Elektronik company. in 1992 he founded AR Elektronik Ltd. Şti. as a founding partner. In 1997 he completed Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Engineering, Electrics and Electronics Engineering Department Master Program and earned the Certified Electrics and Electronics Engineer degree. He worked on various power and control electronic circuit designs, software and productions, and engaged in design and production of Smart Electric Meters in early 2000s. In 2008 he created the Luna brand and started to produce Smart Electric Meters under his own brand. As a Certified Electrics and Electronics Engineer Mustafa KARABAĞLI continues to hold his position as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of LUNA Company Group which still holds more than 80% market share in Turkey, as well as actively engaging in various foundations and organisations in social life. These include TURKOFED in which he serves as a Member of the Executive Board, as well as ESİAD (Aegean Industrialists and Businesspeople Foundation) where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors, TUSIAD (Turkish Industrialists and Businesspeople Foundation), EBSO (Aegean Region Chamber of Industry) where he serves as a Member of the Assembly and Chairman of the Committee for Electrical Components and Measurement Devices, BASIFED (West Anatolian Industrialists and Businesspeople Federation) where he serves as a Member of the Board of Directors, and the Fenerbahçe Sports Club where he is a Member of the Congress. Mustafa KARABAĞLI is married and has 2 children.
