I am a seasoned technology leader with a proven track record of building and scaling large distributed systems for cloud services. Currently, I am the technical leader of an organization with hundreds of engineers at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where my focus since 2018 has been on monitoring and observability services, specifically CloudWatch and CloudWatch Logs.Under my technical leadership, the CloudWatch Logs organization has undergone a remarkable transformation, enabling the service to grow by several orders of magnitude in terms of data volume and engineering capacity. My technical expertise and strategic vision have been instrumental in driving this substantial growth and evolution.Prior, I played a pivotal role in the development of a key AWS service, namely AWS EventBridge (formerly CloudWatch Events). As the first engineer on the EventBridge team, I led its technical journey from concept to a large-scale, production-ready cloud service, which I consider one of the crowning achievements of my career. Before joining AWS, my diverse experiences include founding one of Turkey's first online flower shops, building and maintaining its full stack from UX to backend, holding a system administrator role in my alma mater, as well as pursuing academic research in fields such as neural networks, telecommunications, statistical signal processing, high-performance computing on CPU, GPU, and/or FPGA clusters, and quantitative finance. I also authored a book based on my PhD dissertation in financial signal processing.In my free time, I enjoy activities such as watching movies, hiking, sailing, and road-tripping. So far, I have driven 24K miles across the United States with my wife, visiting over 40 states in the contiguous US, and counting!
